Thief leaves truck in the drink
BY TOMMY MCINTYRE STAFF WRITER
Underwater
According to witnesses, the truck was totally submerged where the boat ramp drops quickly at the end of the incline. They said you could barely make out the outline of the submerged vehicle from the surface. Witnesses also said the truck was in reverse gear when it was pulled from the water.
Greifzu, owner of J. Greifzu Plastering Inc., said he had one of his trailers stolen around Labor Day.
“The truck was insured,” Greifzu said, “but I haven’t talked to the adjusters yet.”
Greifzu said he was told by one witness that the truck was probably beyond repair because it was underwater.
Greifzu said he had a compressor in the truck bed that was not there where they pulled the car from the water.
He said he has no idea of who might have stolen the truck or why.
“You get some unhappy customers once in a while,” he said,” but I certainly don’t have anybody in mind.”
