I wonder how many others are getting similar letters. While I am not "under water" or "upside down" in my house the bank that bought Community National Bank of Sarasota county (Stearns Bank N.A.) has chosen to "suspend" my line of credit. I have never been late on a payment (even through a year & a half of unemployment) & the assessed value of my home is greater than what is due on my mortgage & equity line. Needless to say I will be finding a new place the do my banking next week.
And for the record I did not vote for Bill Furst our new property appraiser.

Impressive how the "bank" acted with out the help of any person. Unbelievable how no bank official will even sign the letter! Thanks for sharing.

My teller Alberta at CNB/Stearns says almost everybody got a copy of your love note. So, don't feel too bad. Stearns has a lot of cleanup to do. CNB fucked up big time on their loan portfolio.

They still gonna charge you the $ 150-250 a year to keep it open??!

Hey It an't spam if I own the website! The above comments were received by email today. Another friend sent me a copy of the letter he got from Century Bank. If I can figure out how to post pdf's on here I will post the letters. I plan on writing the so called bank a letter requesting more information. And I am looking for a new place to bank. Anyone have suggestions?

Another email from a friend,
Hi Patrick, Sun Trust also suspended my line , while courting me for a mortgage. I think that if you need to, you can reapply and most likely get a reduced equity line. As far as I know all the banks are doing this to be able to sift out the weeds. Give them the opportunity to adjust. the best Brian |
